Shad and Melissa were married in 2007, 6 months after meeting and have been together ever since. Shad, a Peoria native, ran the western region for real estate franchising system when they met in CO. They moved back to Peoria and shortly after they had 2 children, a girl and a boy. The mountains called them back to Colorado where Shad grew a staffing company to 4000+ employees and won the Best of Staffing award 6 consecutive years from clients and employees alike.

But, Shad and Melissa were drawn to the Home Care Industry from their shared experiences with both of their fathers. Shad's father developed ALS, while Melissa's father with long term diabetes and dementia. The idea of home care was introduced with the difficulties of being multiple States away and a busy life with pre-teen activities.

With Shad’s mom still in Peoria and both Shad and Melissa determined to explore a career move that provided them with a sense of purpose and giving back, the Sleeth’s decided to move back and purchase Synergy HomeCare. As of mid-year 2022 they made the decision to make the move back to Peoria IL with the opportunity to make a difference in the home care industry. They are excited to join the Synergy family and help educate the Peoria and surrounding communities on the benefits of home care and the critical element of “helping people stay independent wherever they may call home”.
